Dryland Preparation Program
Thanks to our generous sponsors, we offer a Dryland Preparation Program for all participants,
leading up to the Victorian Interschools Snowsport Championships.
This program is designed and delivered by a trained professionals, who are experienced working with young people with an intellectual or physical impairment, or autism.
The Program
We have teamed up again this year with Rhys Artridge from Snow Performance, to design and deliver the 2024 program. Snow Performance offers tailored strength and conditioning for all ages and abilities, following the long-term athlete development model (L.T.A.D), which adapts training methods from early physical literacy through to elite performance. Rhys holds a master’s degree in exercise science (MSc) and is an Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) Level 2 Coach.
This year's program delivers a series of 9 tailored sessions over the 3 months leading up to the Multiclass Snowsports Event.
We encourage all Multiclass Snowsports participants to sign up and attend as many sessions as they can.
Benefits
Alpine snowsports are physically demanding and the risk of injury is increased when entering the winter season without the necessary strength, agility, flexibility and endurance.
Designed and delivered by certified professional trainers, our program helps develop essential fitness and conditioning, both preventing injuries and helping improve the quality of training for participants, once they are on the snow.
Additionally, an ongoing healthy and active lifestyle is promoted, which extends beyond the snowsports season.
Beyond the physical benefits, the Dryland Program provides participants with the opportunity to connect and nurture friendships prior to the winter season. It assists in setting patterns for ongoing and future off-the-snow recreational activities and drives the growth of confidence and independence for all participants.
