2024 VICTORIAN INTERSCHOOLS SNOWSPORTS MULTICLASS EVENT
Our next event is the 2024 Victorian Interschool Snowsport Championships Multiclass Event, being held from the evening of Sunday 18th through Wednesday 21st August, at Mt Buller.
This event includes 2 days of Disabled Wintersport Australia (DWA) faciliated and Mt Buller Ski School-instructed development clinics, a team dinner function, the Giant Slalom ski race and award presentations.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1. To be eligible for the clinic and championship race event, participants must meet one or more of the following criteria:

Be registered with Sport Inclusion Australia and hold a valid eligibility number

Hold a current eligible or provisional School Sport Victoria or Para-alpine classification pertaining to a physical impairment

Have a formal diagnosis of Autism and be able to provide supporting documentation
-
Be a current year member of Special Olympics Australia
-
Be a current year member of DWA
CAPABILITY CRITERIA
2. Participants must also have the capability to:

Independently stand on skis or a snowboard;
-
Ski or ride unassisted, confidently and safely on blue runs (e.g., Little Buller Spur, Shakey Knees runs at Mt Buller);

Shift from snowplough to parallel (skiers);
-
Come to a complete stop unaided, on blue runs at speed;
-
Execute an efficient hockey stop or demonstrate progression of skills toward an efficient hockey stop (skiers); and
-
Ride a chairlift and T-bar independently (e.g., the Fox chair at Mt Buller).
Welcome & equipment Hire
Ski Hire and Group welcome will occur at 5:30pm on Sunday 18th August. New athletes will receive their Multiclass polar fleece vest.
All athletes requiring ski hire will be looked after by the wonderful staff at Black Mountain Equipment.
Muticlass GS Race & Presentations
On 21st August, the Multiclass GS Ski race will be held late morning. The location will be announced the week prior to Interschools.
Come & cheer the competitors!!!
Presentations will be held at the Sports Hall at Alpine Central, where medals will be presented to the Multiclass competitors.
